The proving condition narrows the next step

A fault that matured at cold idle belongs to a different test plan than the same code recorded during high load, deceleration, hot restart, or highway cruise. Supported freeze-frame fields help reconstruct that distinction.

A clear can destroy the easiest path back

Clearing codes may remove the snapshot and reset monitors. Capture code status, freeze frame, readiness, mileage context, and relevant live data before any user-authorized clear.
