Put ScanWrench on your Android phone.

ScanWrench 1.0.2 (build 9) is available through a limited Google Play test. Request access with the Google account you use in the Play Store. Once that account is approved, opt in through Google Play and install the test build.

How access works

One request, then Google Play handles the install.

Approved testers can use ScanWrench while we assemble the longer-running closed test needed for broader Android distribution.

Request access

Use the same Google account that is active in the Play Store on your Android phone. Requests are reviewed and added in batches, so approval is not instant.

Opt in through Google Play

After approval, return here and open the Play test while signed in with that exact account. Google Play handles the test enrollment and installation.

Use it and report evidence

Try the free workflow with a compatible customer-supplied OBD adapter. Send issues through private support, and never troubleshoot while driving.

The email is used only to process this request and reply about beta access. It enters the private support queue; it is not added to a marketing list.

Why 12+

Recruiting now. The qualifying clock starts later.

Google says qualifying personal developer accounts must run a closed test with at least 12 testers continuously opted in for 14 days before applying for production access. The internal-test link on this page lets approved early testers use the current build, but it does not start that closed-test clock.

When the closed track is ready, eligible volunteers will receive its opt-in path. We will not claim the requirement is underway until that release is active and at least 12 testers are continuously opted in.

Beta boundary

The Android beta may change, fail, or become temporarily unavailable. Adapter and vehicle compatibility still depend on the exact hardware, transport, and vehicle. Paid Google Play offers appear only when the installed build receives a verified offering.
